As you can see, my artwork is fairly untraditional. Some days I am more inspired than others to create dark, moody images and some days I am quite content to take photos of my cats. I think that juxtaposition helps me to balance the art and not get too caught up in the darker pieces I create. I have learned that life is all about balance.
I always remember feeling a little different than everyone else and art has taught me to embrace the difference. Art has taught me that it is ok to feel strange or weird. I never understood it, but I guess deep down the artist in me was always screaming to get out and to create. I support other artists and the art they create. I am always willing to lend a hand to a new artist (or a seasoned artist who might be looking for someone to collaborate with). My advice to all artists is to keep going. You might create something you absolutely hate today, but just keep going. Next year or five years from now you will see your growth and might decide that you were on to something. That journey will lead you to the inner creative you have. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes and to watch your artistic self come to life.
